At State Bank, we believe the road to becoming a financially responsible individual should begin at a young age. Our Student Banking Program, consisting of the Giant Piggy Bank, Chickasaw Savings Bank and Comet Savings Bank, aims to teach kids in K-12 schools in our communities the importance of financial responsibility.
For all funds deposited up to $5,000 we pay a premium rate to help encourage kids in our communities to become smarter savers.
The Giant Piggy Bank
The Giant Piggy Bank, an in-school bank, allows elementary students to learn about saving money, and allows older students to act as the “bankers” for a more hands-on learning approach. Here’s how it works:
- For participating schools, students will receive an application to take home for their parent to complete. Once returned, the student will be able to start making weekly deposits.
- The “bankers” receive a schedule and work on their assigned days. A State Bank staff member is always present to assist the “bankers” and teach them about responsibility, confidentiality, and more.
- For every deposit your child will receive one sticker. After they collect eight stickers, State Bank will make a $1 deposit into their account. Weekly and monthly drawings are also held to encourage students to deposit into their savings account regularly.
- If you wish to make a withdrawal, you can come by any State Bank location with your child to do so.
Since its beginning in 1999, the Giant Piggy Bank program has grown and is available in the following schools. Contact us for more information to have the Giant Piggy Bank in your school.

Chickasaw Savings Bank
We show our Chickasaw pride at the Chickasaw Savings Bank! An extension of the Giant Piggy Bank, Chickasaw Savings Bank is available for students who attend:
- New Hampton Middle School
- New Hampton High School
Chickasaw Savings Bank members continue to receive a premium interest rate on deposited funds up to $5,000.
Comets Savings Bank
We show our Comet pride at the Comets Savings Bank! An extension of the Giant Piggy Bank, Comets Savings Bank is available for students who attend:
- Charles City Middle School
- Charles City High School
