Is Business Bill Pay secure? Just like Business Online Banking, Business Bill pay offers strong, multi-layer security such as:

  • Token & PIN Number: Your token generates a unique, randomized number every time you use it. This, in combination with a PIN number you have chosen, creates a secure and safe login.
  • Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): Bill Pay uses SSL, which ensures that your connection and information are secure from outside inspection.
  • Encryption:  Bill Pay uses 128 bit encryption to make your information unreadable as it passes over the Internet.

How are online payments delivered? Most payments are delivered electronically. Your payment information, such as your account number, is sent via secure transmission. All other payments are made by paper checks mailed via the US Postal Service.

How long does it take before a payment is received? Generally, the payment is received within two to seven days, depending on whether it is sent electronically or via paper check.

How will I know if a payment is made electronically or by check? When you are scheduling a payment, the payment calendar allows you to pick your first available pay date and discloses if the payment will be sent electronically or by paper check. In most cases, the first available pay date for electronic payments will show as the next business day. For check payments, the next available pay date will typically show anywhere from 2-5 business days later.

Can I set up recurring and automatic payments? Business Bill Pay allows you to set up both recurring and automatic payments for bills that are consistent every month. Some examples are mortgage/rent payments, insurance, or membership fees.

Can I make a one-time payment? Yes! Bill Pay allows you to make one-time payments for different amounts at different times. This is often used for payments like a telephone or utility bill that may differ each month.

What kind of permission controls can I set? Bill Pay gives you the ability to specify who can make payments, which payments they can make, and from what accounts they can make the payments. You also have the option of requiring someone of higher authority to approve a scheduled payment.

Can I pay multiple bills at one time? Yes! You can set payments and dates for as many payees as you need before submitting the payments.

Can I change or cancel my scheduled Bill Payment? You may change or cancel any bill payment transactions, provided the payment is still in a “Pending” status. You may also review your previously scheduled or pending payments in the “Pending Payments” section box within the Payment Center.

If the payment is in a “Processing” status, it will be necessary to contact us at 319-483-1005 to determine if a stop payment can be placed on the item.
